Can people really bond with LOVOT? A peer-reviewed study, run jointly with SHISEIDO, looked at what happens inside the people who live with one.

The study found that people who had lived with LOVOT for more than two months had levels of oxytocin — a hormone associated with bonding — more than double those of people not living with one.

And after a 15-minute interaction with LOVOT, the study observed cortisol — a hormone associated with stress — fall to about two-thirds of its earlier level.
